Hi George,
This is a two-fer question. First, where can I find a list of new features in LR5 so I can decide if it’s worth upgrading from LR4?

Second, who do you recommend for a printing workshop? I don’t mean the $gazillion classes but a good, solid 2-3 day class with someone who really knows their stuff and costs less than $1000. Thanks.

Hi Lee!

Here’s a link to the LR5 features: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/features.html

Note that the word “NEW” in red all-caps is next to the new features.

Sorry, I don’t know where to send you for a printing class! But if you can find one by Mac Holbert that fits your budget, that’s the one!

Hope that helps,
George

Great series! Everytime I watch one of your new series I learn something new. Everytime I review and older series I pick up something new. I really appreciate the fact that I can watch them at my own pace and work right along with them so the modules and concepts can be utilized in a meaningful way. I like how your videos are broken down skill to make the easy to follow and replay.

Thanks again for a great learning tool.

Mac Holbert and John Paul Caponigro are definitely the printgn teachers you’d like . IF you can’t afford their workshops, other resources aside George’s tutorials are the Caponigro/Holbert “Fine Art Digital Workflow” DVD set. JeffSchewe has a fine new book coming out August 1 titled “The Digital Print”.

Hey George,
Wow, another great series. I have been using LR 5 for some time now, just familiar enough to learn a ton more from you as I deep dive into this. Thanks again. And thanks Ellis for the pointer to Holbert material

Thanks Ellis, I’ve sat through a JPC presentation and didn’t like his style. I like George Jardine and appreciate his style, “We’ll teach you no matter how dense you may be!” LOL I may spring $70 for JPC’s DVDs and see if he’s changed.

I’m also considering a $600 workshop at the Santa Fe Workshops but I hesitate to sign up with an unknown instructor. Decisions, decisions…

George Jardine’s series on Lightroom 5’s Develop Module is an excellent combination of depth and concision. His videos on the Details Panel have the clearest, most practical explanations and best example images of all of the many tutorials I’ve seen on Noise Reduction and Sharpening.

George,
Thank you so much. This is the best tutorial I have ever used. I play the video on my iPad and follow along in LR on my computer.
I really like your teaching style.

Just bought the Image Correction Master Class Series.

Dick
